Chihuly, The Nature of Glass
Exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden
November 2008 to May 2009
The glass sculptures of world renowned sculptor, Dale Chihuly, are on exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix Arizona. The newly renovated entrance to the Garden showcases The Sun and three Wild Flower Towers. In several "washes" one will find the Blue and Purple Boat as well as The Float Boat with a number of glass floats scattered about. In the Sybil B. Harrington Cactus Gallery a number of chandeliers are on display. Through the Garden one will encounter Blue Fiddle Heads, Blue and Green Ferns, Blue Marlins, Neodymium Reeds, Blue and Scorpion Tails and Bamboo all titles of respective sculptures. In the lagoon area are Blue Polyvitro Crystals that are actually floating, thus changing the display slightly with each visit. A treat in the Wild Flower Garden is the Saffron Tower and the Mexican Horn and Hat Tower. It's a visual showcase, the first of its kind in a outdoor botanical desert landscape.
